"I come from a working class family and have been involved in progressive policies for as long as I can remember. I want my values of progressive upwards mobility to represent you and our shared community. We need to make food affordable, housing more available, and public services restored to fully functional. With more than a decade of working with high level information in the IT field. I have the skills it takes to decipher and solve complex problems with simple objective solutions to get the job done right."
LIST OF TYLER'S VALUES
Public Transit
Public transportation is a key feature of any modern city. And yet in 2025 Winnipeg stepped backwards in time with a new design that has buses running late, altogether go missing, take longer to get to destinations, operate less hours, with sections of the city forgotten.
Furthermore; the promises of the previous election about replacing costly and environmentally damaging diesel buses with zero-emission buses by 2027 has now been changed to an estimate of 2045. This is unacceptable to rely on dirty, inefficient technology.
If elected, I will be the voice of reason to update and focus on the needs of the many. My democratic vote will be for more public transit funds.
Safer Roads
In 2025 Winnipeg had a spike in road traffic deaths (21) and serious injuries (165). Winnipeg is ranked #1 in Canada for traffic deaths per 100,000 people (2.46). The cities response is to put up a few lawn signs to ask people to consider slowing down. And to pilot studies for Vision Zero. The official name of the plan to reduce fatalities from vehicles.
I value the preservation of life of motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. I am in support of better crosswalk safety, reduced speeds where appropriate, and to make every effort to get everyone safely home each day.
Street Line Machines
In 2025 it was reported that the City of Winnipeg is spending $1,900,000 annually on privatized contractors helping perform the road line painting. And yet the city struggles each year to repaint all roads before it is too late.
Meanwhile it would cost roughly the same amount of money in a single year to buy two new line machines. Our existing line machine is beyond it's scope of regular working order at 20 years old, the same tenure as Jeff Browaty.
Let's stop wasting money on over costed band-aids and get the job done with enough machines that can handle the workload.
Snow Clearing
Our city is known for it's harsh winter conditions. That is why I oppose any reduction of city snow clearing policy. In the winter of 2025-2026, Winnipeg scored 3.3 out of 5. Getting a grade rating of 'good'.
However the city got a report of 'poor' in relation to slow snow-related concerns and complaints. If elected, I would be in favor of more responsiveness for windrow responses with better resource planning between 311 and snow clearing staff.
Let's ensure next year every category scores a very good mark.
Modernize Sewage & Water Drainage
June 9th, 2026 was a catastrophic day for most of North Kildonan residents. We were hit the hardest in all of Winnipeg for sewage and water backups in homes. And with the City of Winnipeg in 2015 cancelling subsidies to install preventative measures like sump pumps and backflow valves. Many today do not have the means to prevent home damages, causing next year's home insurance for everyone in Winnipeg to go up in cost.
North Kildonan is also one of the wards with the most outdated combination system of sewage and water drainage in a single pipe. I would push for a separation of sewage from ground water drainage.
In addition, my values are to push and vote for a return of subsidies to prevent home damages from happening. Reducing harm, reduces community costs.
Kilcona Dog Park
Jeff Browaty is in favor of constructing a road through the Kilcona Dog Park, while roads already closely surround this space. Jeff Browaty's hopes are to attract people to a dog park, for family picnics.
As someone who goes to parks, including regularly going to Kilcona Dog Park. I know the value of green space and I know that a road through a park will not encourage the consumption of food within the park.
I oppose wasteful spending of redundant roads through public property green spaces.
Reduce Waste Management Expenses
March 2026 the current city council approved two contracts totaling $37,100,000 of tax dollars dedicated for privatized garbage collection. This is an expense that can and must be reduced, but has not been a priority as city debt creeps up.
If elected, my vote would be for Winnipeg to revert garbage collection back into the hands of Winnipeg and it's workers. This would decrease waste management costs, reduce tax dollar waste, and create new municipal jobs.
While city council has regularly opposed reducing the cost of city waste, and municipal job creation that comes from progress. I will continue to be a strong and loud advocate to demand city services are controlled and run by the city. Not by corporations only interested in your tax dollars.
Winnipeg Municipal Term Limits
A very popular topic for many Winnipeg voters, especially in North Kildonan. We have some city councilors that have become very comfortable and stagnant in their positions.
I want to hear from you! Do you want a new North Kildonan city councilor who supports 2 term (8 year) limits? 3 term (12 year) limits? Other term limits?
Tell me what term limit you would like to see me represent as I am in favor of municipal term limits.
Housing
Housing is one of the very most essential needs each and every human requires. We all want a place we can call home. However this not something everyone has. That is wrong.
My values are that we do have the means and technology to provide affordable, accessible housing for everyone. We need leaders to act on this.
If elected, I would vote for fair tax measures that would encourage conversion of for-profit landlord owned massive apartment complexes into forever homes owned & occupied by working class people. This would also double-duty as a means to fund better city services such as smooth roads, functional water and sewage drainage, and more responsive 911 services.
Affordable Food Costs
Food prices since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic have only gone up, while incomes have stagnated. How can Winnipeggers afford quality food if this continues?
The solution is simple. Winnipeg must establish municipally owned and operated grocery stores to compete with for profit grocery stores known for price fixing and price gouging customers.
If elected, my values are to be the advocate for the first series of Winnipeg grocers, to drop food costs 30 to 45%. If other countries can be successful doing this why can't we?
Public Drug Use
You likely have seen it, especially in the downtown areas. Addiction to any kind of drug is a very difficult and life changing challenge even the bravest of us would fear to go through. With this challenge some may consume in public spaces which can have harmful effects to other residents. That is why we must exercise our empathy. Give those battling addiction the supports they need to overcome this struggle.
I strongly support the value of cooperating directly with pragmatic community groups who have a proven successful track record of making positive change. If elected, I would meet with grass root organizations regularly such as Sun Shine House Winnipeg. I would ask what the current problems are their staff are seeing and what supports community organizations need. Be it foot care services for homeless people so they can avoid future more costly medical expenses. Or providing a safe place for the unhoused to hold important documents such as health cards, ID cards, financial documents, and other such things that are not safe to hold onto day to day on the streets.
Chief Peguis Trail Extension
There are two strong debates about the extension of Chief Peguis Trail from Main Street to McPhillips Street.
One side is in favor of the extension as it would relieve traffic congestion flow from Winnipeg North to North Transcona, bolster commerce in West Kildonan Industrial, and open up opportunities for commercial investment into Winnipeg.
One side is opposed due to the initial cost of investment, the possibility of urban sprawl, and concerns of existing road repairs should be prioritized.
In this campaign I want to hear from you. If I am elected, what would you expect out of your North Kildonan City Councilor for the Chief Peguis Trail extension?
Email me your feedback so I know how you feel.
Shared Walking & Bike Paths
Winnipeg is beautiful with a bounty of natural green spaces in and around the city. During the summer on any given day you can witness both local residents and tourists exploring what they can access.
To incentivize more tourism, generate more outside wealth to come into Winnipeg, and to give locals the opportunity to enjoy their cities beauty. I will be an advocate of safe, maintained, pragmatic and pedestrian focused routes for both walking and bicycling year round.
If there is a new bike/pedestrian route you would like to see. Please tell me! I would love to go check it out for myself.
